Tanzania Through My Lens

Welcome to the Lyoseko Safaris Tanzania Gallery — a showcase of authentic safari photography from my journeys as a professional guide across Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Arusha National Park and beyond.

Every photo in this Tanzania safari gallery has been personally taken by me during years of guiding across the country’s most iconic national parks: Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Arusha National Park and beyond. These images capture the authentic beauty of Tanzania’s diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes.

From the dramatic Great Migration river crossings in the Serengeti, to unforgettable encounters with lions, elephants, giraffes and rare bird species, each photograph reflects the magic of a safari in Northern Tanzania. My goal is not only to preserve memories through photography, but also to give you a first glimpse of the incredible adventures that await.

Every image tells a story — golden sunsets over vast savannahs, elephants wandering through the baobab forests of Tarangire, or flamingos painting the shores of Lake Manyara. This gallery is more than pictures; it’s an invitation to experience the true spirit of Tanzania’s wilderness and to inspire your own journey into one of Africa’s most extraordinary safari destinations.

Leopard in the Serengeti – A Rare Safari Encounter

During one of my guided game drives through Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, I captured this unforgettable moment: a majestic leopard resting high in the branches of an acacia tree. Leopards are among the most elusive of the Big Five, and spotting one in the wild is always a highlight for safari guests.
In the Serengeti, leopards often seek refuge in trees to escape the heat of the day or to guard their prey from lions and hyenas. Their unique behavior and striking beauty make them one of the most photographed animals on safari.
At Lyoseko Safaris Tanzania, I always tell my guests: every game drive holds the possibility of witnessing something truly extraordinary — from lions on the hunt to leopards blending seamlessly into the treetops. This image is more than just a photo; it’s a glimpse into the raw, untamed spirit of the Serengeti.

“Leopards resting in Serengeti’s acacia trees – a rare and unforgettable highlight of any Tanzanian safari.”

Black Rhino – A Rare Treasure of Ngorongoro Crater

On the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, I was fortunate to capture this rare sight: the endangered black rhino grazing in its natural habitat. Unlike elephants or lions, rhinos are far more difficult to encounter on safari, making every sighting an extraordinary privilege.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the few places in East Africa where these magnificent animals still roam freely. Their presence is a powerful reminder of the importance of conservation and the delicate balance of Tanzania’s ecosystems.
For guests joining me on safari with Lyoseko Safaris Tanzania, seeing a black rhino here is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience — a moment that connects you deeply to both the history and the future of African wildlife.

“Spotting the endangered black rhino on the floor of Ngorongoro Crater — one of Tanzania’s rarest and most powerful safari experiences.”

Hyenas in Northern Tanzania – Masters of Survival

During my safaris across Northern Tanzania, from Tarangire National Park to the Ngorongoro Crater and the endless plains of the Serengeti, hyenas have always been a fascinating species to observe. These intelligent predators are often misunderstood, yet they play a vital role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.
While hyenas can be found throughout Tanzania’s national parks, the largest populations are seen in the Serengeti, where they follow the movements of the Great Migration. Watching a clan work together to hunt or defend their territory is one of the most powerful safari experiences.
At Lyoseko Safaris Tanzania, I love showing my guests that hyenas are far more than scavengers — they are skilled hunters, social animals, and a true symbol of Africa’s wild resilience.

“Hyenas roam across Northern Tanzania, but in the Serengeti their clans thrive in the greatest numbers.”

Lion Cub in the Serengeti – Curiosity of a Future King

This lion cub resting on a kopje (rock formation) is a reminder that even the kings of the savannah start small. Cubs are often seen climbing rocks, or watching their surroundings with wide, curious eyes — moments that touch every safari traveler’s heart.
The Serengeti is home to some of the largest lion populations in Africa, making it one of the best places on the continent to observe these majestic animals in their natural environment. Watching a cub grow, stumble, and explore the wild is not only adorable, but also a glimpse into the cycle of life that defines Tanzania’s wilderness.
At Lyoseko Safaris Tanzania, I believe encounters like these make a safari unforgettable. From the Serengeti to Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Arusha, every journey holds the chance to witness wildlife stories this inspiring.

“Lion cubs in Serengeti National Park — small in size, but already carrying the spirit of Tanzania’s wild.”
